Point Lookout and Jones Beach, Long Island Bird Walk

We are excited to announce our first trip to Long Island in recent history! Come join us as we observe various sea ducks like Common Eider, Surf Scoter, Bonaparte’s Gull, and Harlequin Duck along with shorebirds such as Purple Sandpiper and Ruddy Turnstone. We will be doing a dedicated sea watch at Point Lookout while also walking a short distance on the beach.

We will then head to Jones Beach State Park and check for roosting shorebirds on the sandbar at the Coast Guard Station and if one is present on the beach and participants want to brave the walk, maybe we’ll even see a SNOWY OWL.

Attendance will be limited to 12 people. Registration is required.
