Putnam Highlands Audubon Society (PHAS) is pleased to announce a partnership with Clarkson University's Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries (BIRE) for a special event and bird walk in celebration of Earth Day, 2020.
Saturday, April 18th from 8:00 - 10:00 am.
Both organizations aim to collaborate, educate, and promote science-backed research in an effort to enhance and protect our community's ecology.
Trip leaders from PHAS will record bird sightings into eBird's database, a citizen science project to support research and conversation efforts. Target bird species include early Spring migrants such as Eastern Phoebe, Brown Thrasher, and Louisiana Waterthrush.
Meet at the Water Ecology Center at Dennings Point. This walk is free, open to the public, but requires pre-registration to minimize environmental impact.
Difficulty: Easy, flat terrain, wear appropriate footwear
Details of event to follow to registered participants.
