Black Bears in the Hudson Valley

Presenter:   Emily Carrollo, wildlife biologist for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.  Emily helps manage the black bear population in seven NY counties and her duties include field work, research, public outreach, and also mitigation and resolution of human-bear conflicts. 

She holds an MS from Pennsylvania State University, and has done both national and international wildlife management work.

Emily will share her intimate knowledge of black bears and their secret lives here in the Highlands and beyond, and also discuss the ticklish challenge of dealing with human-bear conflicts.
