Hope on the Hudson - A Screening and Panel Discussion

  • Desmond Fish Public Library 472 Route 403 Garrison, NY 10524 (map)

Join us for a screening of two dynamic short films by filmmaker Jon Bowermaster, "A Living River", and "Undamming the Hudson River" followed by a panel discussion on local bio-diversity and fish populations with filmmaker Jon Bowermaster, Dr. George Jackman, Habitat Restoration Manager at Riverkeeper and Dr. Scott Silver from Constitution Marsh Audubon Sanctuary.

Both films illustrate how rich the Hudson River is biologically, as well as how much richer it could be with the removal of unneeded small dams on river tributaries. With this change migratory fish could once again spawn in historic breeding grounds.
